Angeline Boulley’s FIREKEEPER’S DAUGHTER Dominates 2022 YA Award Season!

Angeline Boulley’s YA novel, Firekeeper’s Daughter, has been sweeping the awards for YA fiction! Congratulations Angeline!

  • 2022 Printz Award – The Michael L. Printz Award is an award for a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature. It is named for a Topeka, Kansas school librarian who was a long-time active member of the Young Adult Library Services Association.

  • 2022 YALSA Morris Award – William C Morris Award given every year adult literature by a “first-time author writing for teens”. It is administered by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

  • 2022 Walter Award, Teen Category – The Walter Dean Myers Award for Outstanding Children’s Literature, also know as “The Walter”, named in honor of author Walter Dean Myers, recognizes “diverse authors (or co-authors) whose works feature diverse main characters and address diversity in a meaningful way.”

  • 2022 American Indian Youth Literature Award – Awarded biennially, the AIYLA identifies and honors the very best writing and illustrations by Native Americans and Indigenous peoples of North America.
